Self-Appreciation Exercise

To remove surface tension from the body and to prepare the mind and spirit for relaxation and meditation.

1.  Gently rub your face, eyes, ears, and neck and yawn, yawn, yawn.

2.  Gently rub your body – your arms, legs, and feet and yawn, yawn, yawn.

3.  Hug yourself and say four (4) times:

I, (your full name) accept myself just as I am,
respect myself for all I am and may become,
and I love myself unconditionally.

4.  Open your arms and lay them palms up on your things and say four 4 times:

I extend this same acceptance, respect, and love to all others.
